Men Therapy Session

Dr. Natasha Anderson, Ph.D., HSPP

“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind,” by Dr. Seuss. This quote speaks to some of my thoughts about therapy and personal growth. I feel treatment is about helping an individual embrace and accept who they are, in order to be the best version of themselves possible. I work collaboratively with clients to identify personal strengths, build upon these strengths, and provide clinical suggestions to enhance holistic wellbeing. I also agree with the quote by Vivian Greene that says, Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...It's about learning to dance in the rain.” My hope is to provide my clients the necessary tools needed to weather the storms of life. I want to help my clients take control of their lives and actively work towards feeling better through promoting internal growth.

Within my work with children and families I am comfortable using a wide range of therapeutic modalities and have specialized training in individual therapy, family therapy, and group therapy. I have extensive experience in the area of play therapy, including individual, group, and family play therapy, as well as sand tray therapy and attachment based play therapy interventions. I also have specific training in cognitive behavioral therapy for the treatment of anxiety disorders. I tailor my interventions specifically to the individual or family’s specific needs. Personal clinical interests involve the incorporation of mindfulness techniques within therapy, as well as solution focused and behavioral techniques. I have constructed and facilitated a group to teach children about mindfulness and how it may help with emotional regulation. I have also taught as an adjunct professor and have supervised a master’s level psychology student.

I completed my doctorate in clinical psychology with a specialization in child and family therapy. I have a strong background in early childhood intervention with a specific interest in working with children from infancy to six years of age. However, I do enjoy working with youth of all ages presenting with a variety of concerns.
