I work with individuals, couples, and families to help them learn and utilize strengths that support growth for emotional and physical well-being. I work with parents to help them discover and use positive, constructive methods of dealing with behavior and emotional issues.
Areas of specialization include: depression, anxiety, anger, stress, trauma, chronic pain, relationships, parenting, and marriage.
With over 40 years as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I practice Solution Focused Therapy. Using state-of-the-art tools, I ask for client feedback at each session to monitor client progress and quality of sessions to make sure you, the client, are getting what you want and need to help in your path towards better mental health, and higher quality of life. It is reasonable to expect noticeable positive change by the third session.
My work also includes the mind body connection; hypnotherapy has been a part of my practice for 25 years.
I obtained a Bachelor of Arts from DePauw University, Greencastle, IN. I obtained a Master of Science, Social Work from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Since graduate school I have trained extensively with many highly respected clinicians. I have trained therapists across the state of Indiana in Solution Focused Therapy and Quality of Care in Mental Health.
Additional Expertise and Facts:
I have taught at Ball State University in the Social Work and Counseling Psychology Departments, and at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI in the Masters Social Work Program.
